Life Table Analysis

A procedure often applied in prospective studies to examine the distribution of mortality and/or morbidity in one or more diseases in a cohort study of patients over a fixed period of time. For each specific increment in the follow up period, the number entering the period, the number leaving during the period, and the number either dying from the disease (mortality) or developing the disease (morbidity), are all calculated.
