A lattice path is therefore a sequence of points with 𝑃0, 𝑃1, … , 𝑃𝑛 such that each is a lattice point and is obtained by offsetting one unit east (or west) 𝑛 >= 0 𝑃𝑖 𝑃𝑖+1 or one unit north (or south).
