Hot Deck

A method widely used in surveys for imputing missing values. In its simplest form the method involves sampling with replacement m values from the sample respondents to 𝐴𝑟 an item y, where m is the number of non-respondents to the item and r is the number of respondents. The sampled values are used in place of the missing values.
